Hello COL!
« on: November 13, 2012, 10:53:22 PM »
Hi everyone, this is my first post on the forum after quite a few months of lurking around quietly reading lots and lots of puppy posts. Now the time has come for me to join you for real because I'm finally about to become a puppy mummy and I'm so happy I think I might burst  :D
Anyway I'm collecting my little chocolate roan show type girl on Friday after years of wanting a cocker pup and months of looking for the right thing.

I feel reassured that I'll cope with the trial and tribulations after seeing all the helpful advice COLers give to new puppy parents.

Hello. Welcome to COL the most addictive and helpful forum I know. I'm Diana and have just become mum to Rory, a six months old white and black ticked show Cocker boy. As it was all rather rushed and I'm having work done to the house, he's not coming home till the beginning of December. So, for now, I'm just visiting him and looking at his photo. Enjoy your puppy. I bet you're really excited :cool4:

Aw thanks for the lovely friendly welcome one and all. It's now only two sleeps till I get the pup...not that I, sleeping much, too excited! Guess I should be trying hard to get my sleep while I can though eh?

Elaine- no definite name yet but two two highest on the short list are: Meadow (after Meadow Soprano in The Soprano tv series) and Jura (after the Scottish Island and whisky. My mum named her two dockers after Scottish islands, Harris and Isla so I thought it would be nice to follow suit). Anyway we've decided to wait till we see her again and see what suits best. I've only seen her once as we re in the North East and are travelling up to Scotland to collect her.
She's a Lynwater pup so saying as I've heard such good things about their dogs (and my mum had a lovely one) I'm hoping the waiting will be worth it. The only thing I'm a bit wary of is the fact she's a kennel pup so hasn't been brought up in a household with as much socialisation so far so I'm going to concentrate on that when I get her home.

Welcome to CoL as an almost fully fledged cocker mummy! I'm owned by Penny the black show type girl and Jonny the springer. You must be sooooo excited. I know I was beside myself with impatience when I was waiting for Penny! I'm sure you'll soon socialise the new pup to sounds of the home. Make sure she has something cosy to cuddle in her bed, and stock up on the sleep!
