Thanks for all your help!!!
« on: March 09, 2008, 08:43:22 PM »
:D Thanks to those of you who helped me and Kasper, I am pleased to report that we seemed to have turned a corner, THANK GOD i got a second opinion for my RED/GOLDEN COCKER who must therefore have RAGE SYNDROME (tip to self !!!!! avoid behaviourists who use the term RAGE over the telephone). Anyway needless to say it was not Rage more like a teenage tantrum stage.

I am happy to report that we found a CFBA registered behaviourist we were happy with and by making just a few minimal changes we have avoided incident for the last 3 weeks (things are definitely improving). It seems that this problem may be resolved almost as quickly and unexpectedly as it started. For anyone who is experiencing a problem and who is unsure of how to progress I would highly reccomemend getting an expert opinion (but form a reputable behaviourist, not one plucked out of the yellow pages as I initially did).

Thanks again to to the members who offered support and a shoulder to cry on I really appreciate it  ;)

You are doing an amazing job if you have managed to avoid any incidents over 3 weeks. Well done!

there are reputable behaviourists who advertise in yellow pages but check out their credentials, breed experience and qualifications is my advice.
I will also supply testimonials on request.
Not everyone is bad in Yellow pages.
Mark ( who is fairly reputable I think)

:D Sorry did not mean that all those who advertise in there are bad  ;) Just more like you, suggesting that you check the credentials as many people as I did just presume that your speaking to an expert (appearances are sometimes deceptive), and unfortunately the advise offered can be taken literally and more worryingly without a second opinion.
As many of you know I considered rehomeing my dog based on the advise of a behaviourist I initially contacted and without the support of many COL members this could already be a reality for myself and Kasper.

Hope you have not taken offence as this was not my intention!!!
