Hey just a little update:

Well my and my husband decided to take all points into concideration and decided it was best to wait to introduce a new pup into the family when Poppy is at least a year old and that way we can concentrate solely on her through her puppy stages and take things from there.

Howevwer we had good news my mum decided to buy the little pup we had booked- so now I have best of both worlds- a puppy friend for my little Poppy without the mess or hassle!!

I will post pics soonx
ps thanks for everyone's advice..

Oh excellent news! Really looking forward to seeing photos and I would be so pleased if you could post her pedigree on here to see how closely related she is to Brodie :D. Well done in making your decision, such a hard thing to do but looks like things have worked out for the best :luv:

Sounds like an excellent compromise.... Why wouldn't my family look to buy a dog then I could have all the fun with out the mess of 4 dogs  ::)

I think that was a very sensible decision on the part of you and your OH and a great decision on the part of your Mum! I'm glad it worked out so well for all of you, I hope she gets on well with her new pup :luv:

Well done you  ;)you asked for advice and took it all on board and worked out what would be best for all concerned, even though it must have been a hard decision to make but what great parents you have. I am so glad it has all worked out nicely :luv:

Sounds the ideal solution!  How exciting that the baby will be in your family, so not so much of a disappointment when changing your plans.  Hope I wasn't over negative  ::) as it seems like two puppies are workable for some people... maybe I just like my sleep too much!

Sounds like a fab solution. You can see loads of the pup, but your parents can have the mess and the sllepless bits :005: :005:

Wow seriously impressed that your pup was housetrained that quickly!!

Some advice I was given - introduce them for their first meeting on a neutral territory.  Make sure they have their own toys. (I was told to buy new toys for each pup).  Also just like kids be even handed with treats and time.

Sure you will cope brilliantly
