getting their sniff on....
« on: January 31, 2010, 10:54:14 AM »
Well its finally happened on last nights walk.... zoe got her sniff on  :005:

Its the first time she put her nose to the ground and followed the scent of something or someone.   Just as well she was on her extending lead

I always thought she preferrd to run about rather than sniff but something caught her nose last night  ;)

Is she a late developer ( 7 months ) or do these things come as they mature ????

Probably like everything else - it depends on the pooch, maybe some pups have so much more to learn and get used to  in their young lives, it takes time for their 'sniff' to engage  :005:  I can tell you (from a scary experience  ::) ) that once they do get 'the sniff' in full working order, they will sometimes ignore you and nothing else is important, so a good idea to have a very reliable recall in place.
