Can a puppy meet an older, vaccinated dog before second vacc?

I've got friends with dogs who are asking to come and visit Griffin as soon as I get him home (when he'll only have had his first vacc.). I'm very keen to get him socialized with other dogs ASAP, but only if it's safe to do so! I've heard that catching kennel cough from an older dog is a potential problem, as it's contagious before the symptoms appear?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hi,

As long as the dogs are vacinnated including KC, then that's fine.

I brought a puppy home and his brother was at home to meet him.  He's fully innoculated.

Hiya,

I was told by our vet when we had Willow not to allow her to meet with other dogs even friends dogs that had had their injections in case they had been in contact with any dogs that had not been vaccinated. They said this was over cautious but better to be cautious. However there are obviously people out there buying a 2nd or 3rd puppy with other dogs at home that go out and could bring infections back I guess. The waiting is awful.
