Morning All Col'ers
24 hours have now passed since our walk. You always hear of other horror stories but never think it will happen to you.
7:30 Saturday morning started so perfect. Met another guy and Ollie was happily playing for over half an hour. Walked back down the country path with another dog owner. His dog was with us and typically, Ollie was off trying to find water. I turned around called Ollie on the whistle and he didn't return then came walking up to me and laid down. I thought that something was wrong then saw his wound. I was straight on the phone and told my wife to get the car and take our daughter to a neighbour.
Took Ollie to emergency vets. They booked him in took him through and sedated him till his operation. I was in bits all day. Sounds really soft for a guy but my head was up my bottom. Had a few beers to chill and picked him up at 4pm. He peed everywhere and paid the bill. Thank god for insurance.
All of this and he's only nine months old
Think these photo's explain all. The first is the railings that had been pulled down exposing the spike. Council will be getting a phone call tomorrow.
