Reading about him in the previous thread, it sounds like you and he were made for each other. :)

I had secret hopes he would find a new home with a COL'er ;)
I saw in a previous thread you said you will be naming your next Dog Aspen, does this mean you will be going for 5?
:D  :D
I am so Jealous

I do have plans to buy another puppy to show late next year - Caper wasn't planned but when I read about him, he reminded me so much of my old boy that I just had to have him! Of course, #5 will depend on how far round the bend these 4 drive me ;)  If he does stay, I will have to think of a suitable american name for him - Caper isn't his original name anyway but I will try and find something similar sounding. He is 14 months old..........and still hiding in the kitchen

I wondered if that was why you couldn't resist him :D . I've got everything crossed for you that everything works out. x
I really don't like Hamish's name, and was tempted to change it too.

It's a bit of a silly thing to say, but assuming Hamish is your golden boy, I've always seen his picture and thought he looked like a Hamish!

It doesnn't sound silly, I've always thought that too, or maybe I am silly too
It just seems a bit of a mouthful, I like short names, if I'd had my way I'd have called him Elvis.

He is definately a Hamish although I may be biased as my last cocker was a Hamish aka Mish!
Strangely enough if we had gotten a boy he would have been called Elvis too. Wanted to call Jem that anyway but OH told me he would move out if I called a girl Elvis... great minds think alike :)
The only similar sounding American word I can think of is "Diaper" - probably not the kind of name you had in mind. :D

Surprisingly, "Diaper" is not on my list  I was thinking "Denver" but I get confused enough with 2 'D' names. His original name was Sabre - I've only known 3 dogs called Sabre and they were all German Shepherds  Val decided to change it to something that sounded a little less aggressive
Thats him been here 24 hours now and he is wandering about the living room now which is good. He slept in his crate last night with absolutely no problems. I took him into work with me & Vegas this morning and he was as good as gold. He played with another staff dog and then lay in the office with no probs. He loves going out and wants to speak to everyone he sees. His tail never stops wagging!! Left him at home in his crate for 2 hours this afternoon and again, no problems. What else did I learn about him today? If there is nothing to cock his leg against, he will lie down and pee   He is fascinated by the chinchilla - not sure whether he wants to play with her or eat her
Looking good ;)
Boston?

I like that :D
Dante
Harlem
Please don't call him Clinton.. everybody will be thinking about you-know-what, and surely he don't deserve that  :P

Well that may be a great idea, as it leaves a space free for "Monica" to go with "Clinton" :D
I like your Clinton/Monica theory Emma, but I had a chinchilla called Monica

Hmmm ok, what about Bush, leaving a vacancy for a Blair
but I thought Madison was a girls name?

It's unisex, ok :P   I seem to be the only one that likes it - the girls at work looked at me as if I was nuts
Van effleck??? who's he then
a cross between Vin Diesel and Ben Affleck

.....how about Harrison (Ford) :)

Shouldn't that be Farrison Hord   Sorry mum  :P x

:P You can try
I like Brooklyn (Brook for short)
My old boy was called Brook so definitely can't be that ;) I'll get my thinking cap on tonight because he has his first training class on Thursday (not that I'm definitely keeping him, mind ;) ) so it would be a good start if he knew his name :P
I like it!! is that after Andrew Jackson? :D

Who?????
He is named after the capital of Mississippi B) I'll try and get a group photo at the weekend - it's not going to be an easy task as he's like Tigger

Who?????
He was an American President Gill 1829/1837 ;)

Bit before my time I'm afraid
He was a bit of a naughty boy today - one of the vets was lucky not to be four fingers and a thumb down

~Oops - sounds like Jackson and Molo would get on great; they could trade vet-terrorising techniques
Oh well, off to mop the floor & have a good blub :(

:( Oh, dear - sorry to hear that its gone downhill :( Are they just sorting out their relationships? After a few days they may have realised that Jackson is more than just a visitor...and have decided to make sure he knows his place?
I hope it sorts itself out - I know some doggies that have taken a while to get to know each other - but then became the best of friends - good luck :)
Its just going from bad to worse here. We have just had a major fight - Vegas went for Jackson and then Dallas & Disney joined in. Dallas & Disney have never so much as growled at another dog let alone fought with one. I now have blood all over the living room floor with no idea which one it has come from. Everytime one of them passes another one, its just constant growling. I don't want to give up on him as he's only been here 3 days but now it just seems like I have 4 unhappy dogs. As much as I don't want him to have to go back to the kennels, my priority has to be my boys - I just feel so crap that its all gone so wrong so quickly :(

I have to admit I had a few similar days with my two.Mine still play really rough - I wonder sometimes if they mean it, maybe they just got a bit carried away.
Hope you are ok, don't blub, it may take time.x
For what it's worth, I can really empathise with you Gill. Tia and Jack had a few quiet days, and then went at each other hammer and tongs for ages. At 2 weeks I was ready to take him back (to Many Tears  ) but things got a little easier.
At 3 months after a bad fight (they were infrequent by now) the vet said
3months? well, look at your situation again after 6 months. We haven't looked back.
Tia still puts Jack in his place now and again, but quietly now.
Good luck. It depends a bit on whether your nerve holds out. You have twice the number of dogs that I had to handle, so much more difficult if they all pile in.
It is really scarey and really upsetting.

You mean I might have to put up with this for 6 months :o Can I just put a gun to my head now and get it over with ;)
7.33am - they are on a time out already  Great way to start the day!! I've been in touch with Val to let her know what was happening and she is going to let his breeder know so just a case of waiting to see what she says
There is light at the end of the tunnel!!

I can see it shining bright - he and Disney are playing in the kitchen :D So thats one dog won over, only two more to go ;) Things are generally a lot calmer today so I now have hope. He has his first training class tonight so that should be interesting
Hi Gill,
How did last nights training go?

He had a great time! He loves other dogs so walking into a room full of playful puppies made him go all giddy  As a result, we didn't get much obedience out of him but we will work on that ;)
Awww Gill, I am sure you know it will probably be for the best, especially having 4 boys together ;) I really hope it works out for you ;)

I knew deep down one of them would probably have to be done but it would have to be a dark day in hell before it was Dallas or Disney ;) As luck would have it, Jackson sealed his own fate by cocking his leg everywhere   Still feel sorry for him though ;)
