Was going to do a poll but where do you start with which names I included or not.
Thought I would get a list here first and then look at compiling a list.
Please indicate male and female names - not always apparant. :D

My nanna had a sheep dog called Monty then found out she was female so added Monty Bella (I was young at the time and thought her name was Monty bellows!)
My brother also has a sheep dog called Susie.
Not very adventurous with names I'm afraid. ;)
The oddest name was the name of one of my FIL greyhounds he was called Big Fellow for obvious reasons.

I'm just about to collect a cocker pup (black dog from working stock), and I'm swithering over two names:
1) Angus - a good Scottish name with a special place in my heart, the region I lived in before I came down to Englandshire. It's easy to imagine shouting it angrily in the park without sounding completely gay, BUT.. it's not very unusual.
2) Uist - one of the Hebridean Isles off the west coast of Scotland, where my parents lived and where I was conceived - another special place for me (I was actually born in Glasgow which isn't so romantic...). For me it conjures up images of empty, winswept sandy beaches in the Western Isles, but I imagine most other people would just think it's a dumb name for a dog.
Those names which fell off the shortlist include: Fresnel, Rummage (good name for a spaniel), Arran (another Western Isle, but sounds too much like Aaron which has become a popular Chav name) and Doofus (a friend's suggestion which stuck in my head for a while).
If you like, you could vote here and influence the swingometer?

Me too, although I actually named after the character Linus Larraby in the film Sabrina fair. But it is easier to say its after Charlie Browns best friend with the blanket :005:

OH has Triton (yellow lab who was named by HM The queen), Dash, (working Cocker named after we went to see the Incredibles :lol:) and now Stanley (Border terrier x)
Best of all has to be HARMISON :luv:

what about Corrie ? theres a good scottish name. weve had a few corries in the past, my fathers sheepdogs names always got recycled. Im scottish too and live in the highlands.

I knew some Scottish people who called there two dogs Jura and Rex - so when they called the two dogs' names together when out you can imagine what it sounded like!
btw I quite like the name Harris.

We've got (So Sweet Honeysuckle -KK name) Maya, a chocolate worker names after the Mayan Indians that discovered the cocoa bean.
My son has an orange roan girl called (Benbella Saffron) Sky.
We also had Jay an orange roan girl whose KK name began with Cardomine
and Laika (pronounced Lika - named after the first dog in space - Kennel club name Earls Colne's First Explorer.

Named after the yound boy in the Disney film 'Holes' 'Stanley Yelnats' - Yelnats being stanley spelt backwards! Dpnt ask!

I'm a newbie to the site. I had a cocker years ago - beautiful Cleo. Looking to get another cocker now my children are old enough. Having real problems persuading my husband as it is but my favourite name - Angel - isn't going down too well! But you can only tell once you have them, can't you?

Oh I love Storm! We have a beautiful blue/grey Lionhead rabbit. I tried desperately to convince my son to call it Storm but he insisted on the name Peter! He just kept saying "Peter the rabbit of course"
