Common side effects related to cocker spaniel ownership
« on: August 11, 2013, 03:45:55 PM »
Since having Gemma have noticed I seem to be suffering from spasmodic amnesia. Take this morning, I do not remember taking to bed with me, one slipper, a chew chew and a sock, but they were all in the bed with me when I woke up. :shades:

so come on, what other side effects can we expect due to cocker spaniel ownership

Not being able to pair up socks as Riley has taken odd ones and has an array of them in his bed.

Having to hold on to the handrail coming downstairs incase you trip over the velcro cocker who has joined you up and downstairs, room to room etc.

Having to spell out words infront of the dog, like dinner, beach, walk, park,  "do you want"  etc.

Always learning to have a swift right food in order to cover some sort of edible item that you have dropped before our furbaby snaffles it.

Having one arm longer than the other from spangel pulling continuously on leads.

Oh sure will think of more. :005: ph34r

Not being able to sit and have a brew in peace without wearing a coat of many cockers.

Adopting the "Cocker Shuffle" as you walk around the house to avoid stepping on or tripping over them and being aware of the dangers of rotating cockers as you try to answer the door bell.

Always having to be wary of "Flip top bin" syndrome when a cocker decides to jump onto your lap (Particularly applicable to male COL members  :fear2:)

Having permanent company at your feet when cooking - whatever gets dropped on the floor is in Fudge land
Not needing a flannel anymore
No need for a hot water bottle
Having a permanent grin
Always knackered
Walk fit
Dog hair in every orifice!!
A whirling dervish appearing whenever his food cupboard, the fridge or the dishwasher opens.

I have hairs where I shouldn't have hairs.

I never ever noticed this prior to having cockers.   :005: :005:

Oh dear! It was a purely innocent remark. Perhaps I should have worded it better  ;)
