Oh dear! It was a purely innocent remark. Perhaps I should have worded it better  ;)

Nope - it is our minds - not your words, worry not  ;)

Not being able to find a matching pair of shoes. The other shoe could literally be anywhere in the house (or garden) resulting in much  >:(. Other side effects include missing the bus and generally being late for everything.

Adopting the "Cocker Shuffle" as you walk around the house to avoid stepping on or tripping over them and being aware of the dangers of rotating cockers as you try to answer the door bell.

Love that!  :005:

Other common side affects include:
Insomnia - lack of sleep from being at their beck and call
Weight loss - from walking 3 times a day
Toilet problems - from not being able to go without a cocker on your lap
Confusion - why did I get one?
Euphoria - from loving every minute of it all!!

Walking around carrying the TV remote to save it from being kidnapped and held to ransom for a milky bone.
Becoming a poo quality expert.
and the most dangerous side effect of all........ becoming addicted to COL.

I miss going to the loo alone, getting dressed without having to chase each item of clothing when its dragged around the house. Also I used to spend money on treats for myself, but this month's treat was £74 on VetsUk! Oh well you never know she may be so distracted by her new toys I won't have to chase my knickers into the kitchen of a morning...

I have hairs where I shouldn't have hairs.

I never ever noticed this prior to having cockers.   :005: :005:

I have no hairs where I used to have hairs......I'd put this down to an excess of birthdays and male pattern hair loss but now I see that it's obviously another side effect of cocker ownership. :005: :005:
Well, that's my excuse from now on, so there. ;)

Bob.

Just this morning, hunting around frantically for a work shoe, and then finding it tucked carefully behind a sofa cushion.  Wasn't doing THAT five months ago....

Brushing each other (of dog hairs) before we leave the house.
Being able to visit the loo in 20 seconds flat before the whining starts.
Cocker spotting when out and about( my husband is quite use to walking along talking to me then turning around and finding I'm 20 yards behind, making a fuss of a cocker).
Never being lonely when no one else is around.
Constantly smiling.
Spelling out words that rhyme with cat! (We can't say - that, fat, hat, mat without him racing to the patio door barking and looking for the cat).
Knowing that I own the most loyal, funny, friendly and mad breed of dog - and being extremely proud!!!!

Feelings of guilt, every time I eat, due to the little face staring at me like a third world famine victim...

Running around the sitting room like a loon after Toby at 11 at night because he has stolen my slipper and is going bonkers for me to play chase with him.

Trying to open a packet of goodies quietly and thinking I've succeeded, only to find he's gone from unconsciousness to 90 miles an hour in a nano second and is sat there drooling.

Re-rolling the loo roll because he has grabbed the end and pulled most of it through the utility room and kitchen.

Just wishing that for once, my clean clothes would stay clean for longer than half an hour.   :005:

Complete paranoia over grass seeds - the enemy!

Oh yes - not being able to open a packet of anything. The other day it was the cello on a magazine, and she was over giving me a paw and begging for 'some'. Also weirdly the other day when I was putting on my watch she sat giving me a paw and wanting it. Erm no, I'm not buying you a watch!

I used to go out walking myself, now it takes so much longer by the time every passer by stops to tell me I have the most boooootiful pup in the world  :luv:

Feeding the cats, putting the empty pouches in the bin (well out of cocker reach) and still finding the pouches being enthusiastically sucked in the living room 30 seconds later....

Watching something on tv and becoming totally confused about the plot only to realise someone's big paw hit the remote five minutes ago and you're now watching a completely different channel....

Going to water, feed or fertilise anything at all in the garden, and finding yourself fertilising and/or watering the spaniel who was asleep at the far end of the house 2 seconds ago....

Giving up yoga as it's impossible to do it properly while laughing as you have a cocker spaniel up your nose or laying on your chest..... :005:
