I've just seen this on the Your Dog Facebook page......https://www.facebook.com/yourdogmagazine?fref=ts

Calling all Cocker Spaniel owners!

We are looking for owners of both working and show Cockers to talk about the breed for a case study?

If you can help, please email k.felstead@bpgmedia.co.uk with your daytime tel no and brief details of your dog, including whether he is a show/working Cocker.

Would be great for a COL dog to be featured  :shades: :D

I put William and Louis forward and have just had a phone call from Kelly Felstead and a long conversation with her about the boys. I'm sure she's making lots of phone calls today and we're just part of a short list (probably a very long short list :lol2:) but at the end of the phone call she asked me to email her some photos of them, so I'm guessing we're still under consideration at the moment.

Keeping my fingers crossed, but not holding my breath :D

Feeling excited, just had an email from Kelly Felstead to say that William and Louis will be in the Cocker Spaniel feature in the February edition  :cool4:

I know a couple of the photos I sent will be included but I don't know if there will also be some narrative from the conversation I had with Kelly a couple of weeks ago. Looking forward to receiving my copy in the post.

How exciting  :D

What's the piece about?

It's looking at show types and workers and (I think) looking at similarities and differences. One of the questions I was asked was why I have show types and do I prefer them to workers. Kelly is a Cocker owner so hopefully the feature will be accurate, fair and objective.

I know they were interviewing owners of both types and they will feature both. I think William may have caught Kelly's interest because in his time he's done a bit of breed showing, quite a lot of fun shows, agility competitions and been part of a training club display team doing group displays to music. Versatile boy :D. I was honest about Louis and his problems with other dogs over the years since he was attacked and I thought that might have put Kelly off featuring my two ph34r.

Even if it's just a couple of my photos I'll be delighted.

My copy has come in the post and it has my favourite photo of William :luv: and a photo of both boys looking down a rabbit hole :D as well as some of the stuff discussed in the phone interview I did. The only grumble I have is that I was asked about working Cockers and said I've never had one, only ever show types, but if they're from true working stock they often need more mental stimulation and exercise than show types, and the way they've quoted that makes me sound a bit dismissive about workers, which I'm not.

In another article, about training, there are some photos of Erica and Jessie doing a sit stay and recall exercise :D
