home boarding or petter sitters
« on: January 07, 2007, 08:10:32 PM »
Can any help???

I am due to go to a family wedding in March and all my relatives are goin who would normally look after Jester - he will be 10months by then but i have visited kennels in my area and feel he would be petrified if i left him there for 3 days.  I saw an adult cocker who did not look at all happy whilst i was visiting.

I am trying to find a reputable person who takes dogs into their own homes and looks after them but am having trouble finding any in the bexley, kent area - can anyone help

Many thanks

We found our regular pet minder from this organisation

http://www.guardianangelservices.co.uk/

They don't have a full service everywhere, but we are delighted with the service we have had.

It is only slightly more than kennels for us, but so so much better as our local kennels don't walk the dogs at all (our "angel's" son walks Buddy for miles - he does dog walking to earn money while he's at school. Not sure if he's insured, but he's very responsible). Buddy also gets to watch this boy play football (he's the team jinx I'm afraid) and they love Buddy.

thanks for that website - this seems a very reputable company but unfortunately have noone in my area of Bexley, Kent - does anyone else know of any dog boarders living in my area that can accomodate in their own home.  Kennels are definitely not for him - everytime i go there seem to be massive gsd's in the kennels barking constantly - Jester would be terrified and i am sure it would affect him - any other time my family are able to have him but this is a family wedding - he such a gentle dog that rarely barks (only at the cat and my hoover occasinally) i dont want him turning into a barking scared dog

Have you tried asking at your local vet?
