Pip is chasing and bringing back a toy! - I'm so happy
« on: February 13, 2004, 08:46:19 PM »
Hi All

Pip, my 6/7 yo rescue from Ireland, is now chasing a toy I throw him and bringing it back  :D  and doing it again and again.

It might not sound much, but my previous older rescue dogs, Jamie and Benjy, had no idea how to play with toys - despite spending years with Jamie trying to teach him.

Pip came 9 months ago with a stuffed toy in his month (Pip II which he'd held for 4 months in rescue) but only held it for comfort. After 9 months with Fletch, whose whole meaning of life revolves around chasing and bringing back toys, Pip now knows how to play with toys.

I'm grinning from ear to ear seeing how happy he is playing  :D

Yes that really is good news - such a little thing, but I can easily understand how it must make you feel - obviously a sign of a happy, secure home

Hi Hel,
I would love Tia to start playing. She's 8 yo, is very loving and keen to please, but shows absolutely no interest in toys.
How did you do it?
