Bobby gets called Blobby ( on account of short legs and big hair)
Monster ( like many others on this thread funnily enough)
                        Munchkin ( when he's cute)
                        Oi-you-NO!!!!!!
RIP Marti  the EPI springer age 12,  and beloved black cocker Bobby, 8 yrs old, too soon, from PLN.
Now owned by TInker, tiny hairy grey poodle/terrier rescue from Greece and Jack, local rescue,   scruffy ginger terrier mutt.

Bella gets BB, Queen B, Baby Bell, Mini Cheese, Beauty, Mini Haha, and the less flattering Hell's Bells, and a recent addition, Scoot 'n' Sniff...

Zorro gets Baby Mister (which he responds to more than his real name), ZZ, ZZ Topknot, Sir Bouncealot, Noodle Noddle and various others to do with having less up top, bless him.

And of course they have the collective Muppeteers, Mupsters and You Shuffly Lot.

don't know if I've posted this before - but each year we go to the same resort for a holiday in October - and at some point, we go to a really nice pizza place, where they bring you crayons to draw on the paper tablecloth (no, we don't have kids).  The last two years, we've used our waiting time to write down all of Paddy's alternative names.  Year one, when we'd had Paddy for ten months, he'd got over 50 names (including Paddy).  Last October, the list had increased to over 70 names, about 60 of which originate from my husband e.g. Dog of Doom, Sir Padmond Paw, PawTUS (the Paw equivalent of POTUS - President of the United States) - hence "PawTUS on board" for when Pads has been collected from the petsitter.

His favourite American Football team is the New England Pawtriots, his favourite players are Clinton Pawtis (OH is a BIG American football fan) and Pawton Manning.

Paddy is, as the Victorians would have put it, a "Dog of Parts".  We, however, appear to be going insane to casual observers.....

I have always had nicknames for my dogs and used then often. I found that if I was out on a walk and someone had a dog with the same name as mine I was allways able to overide the dogs urge to run to that owner who called their name by calling them to me with their nickname. My dogs have just got their nicknames by chance. Sally a gsd was called fatsoo ( as when she was a puppy she looked like a barrel on legs) Coco's was pudding ( i have no idea how he got that ) Tara's is ta ( which is what the parrot calls her ) and lastly Daisy's is day or daisydo ( i'm sure as time goes by she will get another nickname but as we have only had her 3 months we havnt used anything yet )
I will always give my dogs nicknames and they help to keep them safe when we are out and i want them to come back and not other peoples dogs with the same name.
Although if it was a gsd or a cocker spaniel i might just have to take them home as well lol :005:
