and the worst thing is I was away for a weeks holiday when it happened. :'( :'(
His seizures were getting closer together again and it had been over 4 weeks since his last so I was concerned it would happen but we were going to Portugal as a family with my daughter and her fiance and my two sons. Before I left I cuddled him and told him not to go anywhere when I was away but he never was the most obedient boy.
My mum and dad stayed her with him, Milly, Ali and their little cocker Susie whom Barney adored. He began having seizures on Wednesday. My mum and dad gave him valium then took him to the vet when they realised he was getting worse.
He went into status and the vet wanted to have him PTS but I asked them not to as he has done this before and pulled through-this time he didn't.  :'( :'( I phoned on Thursday evening to be told that he had just passed away during a seizure.
My mum, dad and sister were wonderful but it broke my heart knowing that I would never see him again.
He was 4 on 6th July and has had fits since he was 6 months old. Knowing what was ahead if I could go back and choose from that litter over again I would still chose him. He was such a character and I have such a lot of good memories to hold me together.  :luv: :luv:

OMG

I am so so sorry to read your sad news.

Barney knew he was loved and it is so amazing how many family members 'chose' to go when their closest relatives aren't there, it's as if they somehow 'know' that their time is right.

Take comfort in the few years you had together, much love   :luv:

I'm so, so sorry, how sad for this to happen while you were away as well  :'(. It sounds like nothing could have been done. Hold onto all those lovely memories of him. Run free little one... :luv:

I am so so sorry, you must be heartbroken.  I remember reading your recent posting and by the way that you spoke about Barney you could tell that you were totally committed to him.  You gave him the absolute best life that you could.  Look after yourself, billions of hugs to you.

So sorry to hear of his passing. I think animals are like humans and try to 'protect' their loved ones by passing when they're not there to witness it.

Hope you can take comfort in your memories

I am so very sorry to read this, my heart and thoughts are with you  :'( :'( :'(

You did so much to try and stabilise Barney, and I'm so sad that it wasn't to be.  Barney, you fought so hard, you can have a little rest now baby knowing that your mum loves you very much.
