I met a lady at the park with a black working cocker that she had rescued (but she insisted it was a field spaniel because that was what the Rescue Centre had told her) and he was called Reggie.....I laughingly said "Reggie?  Who on earth would call a dog Reggie?" and she said "we did actually" stuck her nose in the air and minced off!
Funnily enough I haven't seen her since  ::)

ooops!  :005:

As a child my mum had a (female) dog called Stu. Well actually the dog was called Sue, but then my Aunt came along and they decided to call her Sue so they changed the dog's name to Stu.

Why do we make pet names longer instead of shorter though?  We often called Vickie Victoria, called our old lab, Bessie, Elizabeth.  I'm already calling poor old Alfie Alfredo when I'm petting him, and Mollie is usually Molliedog.

He should respond to 'Don Alfredo' cos he got called that a lot as a puppy, my ex OH was a Godfather fan :005: :luv:

One of my favourite Cocker names on here is Clive (owned by Abby), I think that's a brilliant name :shades:

I agree Eric is a fab name - my Eric is now 2.5 years old & now resides in the Czech Republic . . I also have had many a funny look when I was asked his name!
his Daddy is Dennis & his Grand Daddy is Frank, I don't see a problem!  :D

i think it would end up being shortened to 'Tally'  :005: a Heeler is actually a Lancashire Heeler, a small black/tan or brown/tan cattle dog, with a big set of teeth and a HUGE attitude!  :005: here is Mindy....

I had a horse that came with the name Cordelia - couldn't stand that and changed to Cora....  Another horse raced under the name "Someone Else" but known at home as Jasper.  Always great sorting insurance etc -  "and what is the name?" answer "Someone Else" reply " So who's?" you get the drift......

Friends have a cocker called "Bruce" it's a great name that suits him and goes with his affix (Springstein!)

OH would of been honoured if you'd name Bob "Colin", Sarah  :005:

Wouldn't of thought about Philip but it suited the big black Shnauzer (sp?) at Crufts.

My Grandad has a cat called Humphrey, he's a big Tom and it really suits.
Humphrey is the name my Gdad used to assume when he went out dancing with the ladies, that way if he, basically pulled them, and didn't want to know after they'd not be able to trace him. His current wife didn't know he was really called Malcolm untill about 3 months before they were married  >:D So the big Tom takes after hs namesake  ::)

I maybe about to keep a boy & the names in the running are 'Colin' 'Dave' or 'Barry'!

I vote 'Colin' - with a cool name like that he'd be bound to add to your long list of a SH CHs, Kim.  :005:

I once knew a big, solid, piebald coloured horse called Colin; he was named after the character in 'The Brittas Empire' because he had a spotty, scabby face when he first arrived.......(like the character in the programme .........no offense at all intended to you, Colin  ;))

I rode him a few times & he resembled a large, comfortable armchair!!! :D

I know someone with 2 springers called Bonnie and Clyde which is pretty cool,

As I mentioned recently in the rescue section, I homed a puppy to a lady with a bitch called Bonnie and she called him Clyde.  :shades:

Also from the same litter a pup went to live with a Golden Retriever called Buster and they called him Keaton - I think that is just the coolest name.  :shades: :shades:

I used to groom a gold cocker called Gordon.

I don't think Michele would work as a dogs name.  :-\ ph34r :lol2:
