I'm so very, very sorry.  I think "there but for the grace of god" can apply to most of us here.  Jet died doing what he loved most, in days/weeeks/months to come I'm sure you will be able to take a little comfort from that.

So sorry for your loss and as others have said, there but by the grace of god go many of us.
Don't blame yourself and in time you will take comfort from the fact he didn't suffer.

sorry to hear this dreadful news. 

Please dont blame yourself, this could have so easily have been Taz at the weekend - we went to a common which looked safe to let him off, then we realised that there was a road across the side of it which we couldnt see and Taz had gone running that way - fortunately recall worked - so i know how easy these accidents happen.
