Hello! Just a quick one to let you know that Alice is now home with us and is settling in really well. I did cry when we went to fetch her as she does look pretty bad - you will see in the pics I shall post later on. She wags her little tail all of the time and yet is trembling too - she really wants to be loved but is also terrified. And she is TINY! I have never seen a cocker so small - she is barely bigger than our biggest cat. She is thin and bald in patches and just needs lots of TLC as Sylvia at MT said. The good news is that she is probably only 3.
The heartbreaking thing is that she keeps trying to sleep on concrete. We are renovating an old house and there are some areas with no flooring. She tries to make herself as tiny as possible and sleep where it is cold and hard.
I will post pics later on as she is now exploring the garden and has even had a weedy go at chasing the hens! It was very funny and sad all at the same time. She is going to be a complete heartbreaker I know but she is absolutely wonderful.
I just want to say how utterly brilliant James and Sylvia at MT were yesterday. It is very humbling to go there and actually see what they do for these poor dogs. I cannot thank them enough for our little Alice.
Piccies later on!
