Benji
« on: May 23, 2009, 05:15:47 PM »
Benji is an eight year old Cocker. He weighs six kilos.

His family decided they couldn't be bothered with him anymore but since the local shelter charges a fee for incoming abandoned animals, they decided to just leave Benji in their garden and forget about him. He survived on rainwater and after who knows how long the neighbours reported his owners to the local authorities. He was then taken to the shelter. We (German Cocker rescue) were able to place him in a foster family in Germany. He went to the vet's yesterday and it looks like he's going to be ok. :D
He is absolutely flea infested and his foster mum has had to clip off the matted fur on his ears. Here he is with one ear done: :005:

Poor little soul  :luv:

I don't understand how people can neglect animals like that...  >:D
I'd like to see them surviving on rain-water  >:(

Hopefully he will find his perfect home and can forget about the wastes of space who failed him!  :luv:

Words dont fail me just the ones that spring to mind are not the sort you can use on a family forum.  Am so pleased they were reported and that Benji being looked after now...

I haven't got the words to describe anybody who could do something like that, it's disgusting :-\   But I'm so glad he's safe in rescue now and being well cared for :luv:

Words fail me as well.  I can't bear the sad look in his eyes.  Hopefully someone soon will come along and give him a forever home and make him forget all about his (unprintable about) previous owners.  I really hope they reap what they sow.
