We said goodbye tonight to our beautiful Poppy. We are totally devastated as it came completely out of the blue.
She was 13 and until recently been very healthy if not a little slower on her walks and not wanting to walk as far. Last week she started to get finicky about her food until over the weekend didn't really want to eat even her liverbread which she loved. I took her to the vets tonight for a checkup. He took a blood test and kept her in, saying that he may have to start treatment right as he thought she may have organ failure. He phoned me back an hour or so later to say that the tests had shown end stage chronic renal failure and that there was no treament.
I can't believe it I am so devastated, its only been 4 months since we lost Holly to pancreatitis caused by cancer and our world at the moment seems so empty.Rosie can't understand why we are so upset.
Sleep tight my precious and run free with Holly,your lifelong companion, we miss you both so much.
