Yes yes yes Iv just had the best news!!!! Im so happy

We are moving to a rented house which was difficult to find with our requirements and budgets but had the unfortunate news that we had to rehome Poppy and Ruby as they never allowed dogs- this was devestating as you can imagined but we just cant find a house that meets our requirements that accepts dogs. We found a lovely home for Ruby and she has a new brother (A little blue roan) and she has settled in very well. I then found a lovely home for Poppy she was due to get collected last night but then the buyer pulled out last minute. So we still have Poppy in the meantime I have been pleading with my new landlord to be to let us keep Poppy as she is very calm and laid back and also crate trained and can you beleive it today he agreed to let us keep her on the provision we sign the contract  that states we are liable for any doggy damage etc.

We are so happy this has been the best day! and it is fate that the buyer pulled out yesterday- this was meant to happen :) :) :) xxx :luv:

It must of been a sad & difficult time for you, having to move home & not being able to take your dogs  :'(
It's lovely to hear that Ruby is happy & settled in her new home (will you be able to see her & keep in touch with how she's doing?) but even more wonderful is, that you can take poppy after all ........ like you say, good job fate made the buyers pull out :bigarmhug:

Excellent news! :D My landlord is fab, but I do dread the thought of finding a new home if I had to.

It's actually now not legal to have a blanket no pets policy in rented houses as I understand it - one to bear in mind ;)

Thanks for all your comments- yes I also believe in whats meant to be is meant to be- its just ashame little Ruby is now gone (however I have been in touch and her new owner is giving me full updates on her progress) which is really reasurring.  ButAt least I am not doggyless :) Cant imagine my life now without cockers

No I never had her advertised on Gumtree :) must have been another dog.

What wonderful news for you, I can understand why landlords are reluctant to accept pets but if you sign a disclaimer saying you will pay for any problems they cause then I really don't see what the issue is. I bet you are overjoyed to be able to keep your dog. Its a shame about Ruby but it sounds like she has got a good loving home.

Persevere if you can always!  I was made homeless (as some of you know) last autumn, but with the help of friends and by hanging on in there and refusing to accept anything whereby I had to rehome any of my 4, I found a wonderful rented property/landlord.

It took 3 months to find but I am able to carry on with rehab for cockers too as the landlord has no objection!  ;)

Me and my four boys are extremely happy!  :D

Congratulations on being able to keep Poppy!

I am really pleased for you.

We are trying to find a rental property here which will allow inside dogs. We think we have one but the system is that you apply and the agent/owner chooses the best one. However when we applied we were the only ones so here's hoping!

I hope you will be very happy in your new home.

Do you have a link for that?  I'm not in that situation (thank goodness) but would be handy to know.
