2010 Photo Competition Discussion Thread

It's that time of the year again! A bit earlier than usual but the annual COL Photo Competition is starting today and is now open HERE -  you all have until the 31st of March to sort through all your photos or get snapping to get some new ones  Entry is free and there are rosettes for 1st-5th place in each class plus special rosettes for BIS and RBIS.

Big thanks to our BIS judge this year, Coleen Nolan, and to our intrepid COL judges who will be deciding the winners of the various classes, their details are on the competition board so you know where to direct any bribery

There is a Help thread on the competition board for any technical queries or requests, this thread is for all general discussion about the competition and the entries. Please have a read of the Rules and Info thread first and then get posting!

Oh no, not sure I can cope with the pressure of trying to pick (and take!) photos for all those classes. I think there's at least 6 I could enter

do what I do - enter 1, and then change it over the course of the next few weeks while you make up your mind

I thought I was reading last years threads when I saw the competition again, can't believe it's been almost a year since last years competition........must be all the hours I sit on COL 

Looking forward to seeing some fantastic photos, so many new puppies I think we will be spoilt

Uh oh. That's me sorting through all my hundreds of pics of all my dogs then. Could take some time. Lucky I have a month.  I do that to Helen. I'm forever changing my mind then prob end up using the first pic.

It's a bit earlier this year to give a bit more breathing space between the photo comp ending and the calendar threads starting - they were only a couple of weeks apart last year.

Some really nice entries already - well done to Emilymac for getting things under way.

Hurray   I love the photo comp!

So glad that "Best Out-takes" is a regular class this year. This one is a blast and I hope it gets lots of entries so don't be too quick to hit the delete button on your cameras!

Wow, theres some fantastic photos already - loads I've never seen before and I see the horrible snow has actually accounted for the majority of the great ones

Yep there's some brilliant entries already - I don't always have time to check the photo boards so I'm seeing lots of Cockers I've missed.   The usual pattern is the judges are really excited about it - until it dawns on them just how difficult a task it is, then the panic sets in. Last year's judges are only just out of rehab.

Loving all the pictures so far, it is so difficult to just pick one picture per class!!
I think I will take the hint to add one now and maybe change it before the end date!
