Do you have nicknames for your dogs? And/or songs?
« on: November 25, 2010, 12:26:37 PM »
Alfie is 7 months old; when he was a tiny little pupster he sometimes looked a bit like a piglet  :005:

So he became Piggy, Piggy Wig, Pigster, Piglet, Piggle, Piggles or just plain Pig! Piggles is the one he is most often called, as we liken him to Tigger (being so bouncy and full of energy!) and Piggles fits nicely into one of the songs from Winnie The Pooh - we sing this to Alfie at least once every day!  :005:

"The wonderful thing about Piggles, is Piggles are wonderful things, their tops are made out of rubber their bottoms are made out of springs! They're bouncy, flouncy, trouncy, pouncy, fun fun fun fun fun, the wonderful thing about Piggles is you're the only one, you're the only one!"

Oh, and his recall is great to any of those as well, especially "Pig pig pig pig!" said in a highish voice!  :005:

I usually just shorten his name to Odes or 'fluff monster'  :lol2:

It's 'wigglebot' when he's doing that favourite cocker move :005:  No songs I'm afraid....
Both taken away from us far too soon. x  RIP Angels Odie & Archie, causing mayhem at the Rainbow, no doubt!

Only Brook has a song and he only got that when he died. I got the title of it tattooed along the side of my foot.

Nickname wise, Dallas is Dally Wally Doodlebug. Other shorter variations used are Dal, Dally or Doodlebug.  Disney is Dizzy Whizzy Woo Woo. This has been shortened to just Woo and is now what he answers to. I don't know if he still remembers his actual name  :005:
Dallas ( 10) & Disney ( 9 )

Playing at the Bridge: Brook (13/06/04), Jackson (23/12/05) & Vegas (14/07/10)

The songs and nicknames change - but the ones in use at the moment are:
Stinkie, Winkie, Winkie, Winkie, Winkie Woo. ph34r
Snoddy, Toddy, Toddy, Snoddy, Dooby Doo dah. ph34r

And one from a 'Father Ted' episode: :005:
My lovely horse (dog)
Running through the field.
Where are you going,
With your fetlocks blowing
In the wind?

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare. And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.

I have a song I sing daily to Eddie:

"Eddie dog, Eddie dog, if I was a dog I'd give you a snog!"..........  ph34r :005:

Then my OH made up a second verse, which he sings back to me as if it was Eddie:

"But you're not, but you're not..... and guess what? You're not that hot!!!!"

(seriously, I can't believe I'm sharing this! )

Our last cocker was called Tess. My young sons were blessed with the usual boy's great delight in toilet humour. They would take huge pleasure in adding a few letters to the end of Tess's name to turn it into a part of a man's anatomy. They would stand in the corner of the garden and call this adapted name out VERY loudly. Luckily Tess was well aware of her 'other' name and would dutifully come back to them....goodness knows what the neighbours thought. Bad parent, bad parent.....

Too many nick names to mention my current fave seems to be bubbley which has come from baby - bubby  ph34r Mo and Mo Mo are popular for everyone to use for her.

As far as songs go Gizmo gets 'Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got love in my tummy', 'You're beautiful (itttt's truuuuuueeeee)' and 'You're gorgeous'  ph34r  ph34r
