What a terrible situation to be in but you are so lucky that your in laws are a ready made good home for Tuppence.
Don't forget you don't have to own a cocker to be part of the community of cockersonline.  You literally would not believe the amount of love and support you will find on this lovely forum - Although I have 4 dogs, I no longer have my beloved cockers yet I still come on here every day and have done so for many years.
COL helped me through the death of my beloved mum, the loss of my 2 cockers and many other daily trials and tribulations.
I really hope that you will keep coming on here just for a chat from time to time, or for advice on anything.  You will find someone on here either knows the answer or will point you in the right direction of someone who knows the answer to literally anything.
Please take care of yourself and hope Tuppence's op goes well.  I am sure she will be happy with your in laws and as others have said you can go and visit her and keep up to date with her progress.

We are so sorry to hear of your dilemma and our hearts go out to you both.

Under the the circumstances of work and travel, we feel that you are doing the best for Tuppence.

It takes a lot of love and care although another heart break for you that you are putting Tuppence's well being first.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you both.

Take care of yourself.   :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug: :bigarmhug:

You'll still be Tupp's Daddy, even if she is staying with her Grandparents - would keeping her at your house and having support give you more worries ? Do you have a neighbour who would 'dog share' Tupp with you so that she wouldn't be left alaone so long in the day?

Well tomorrow miss tuppence goes in for her big operation (spay and strip her mammary glands). Wish us well gang taken a week off work to help her get better and try to stop her licking her stitches out. We are still missing her mum desperately but one day at a time! :'(

Hi Gary
Have you got a childs t-shirt or
a babygro she can wear after her op.
Pepper and Ellie had them for after
their spay, but neither of them seemed
intrested in bothering the area.
I'm sure she will be just fine :D
We send Tuppence :luv:some
wuv from Yorkshire :-* :-* :-*

I hope all goes well with the op. And yes, do put a t-shirt on her, that should stop her licking.

I have to say that you are a lot stronger than I would be in such a situation... I would follow my heart, not my head and see how my dog got on with some arrangements in place during the day. But you must do what feels right for you and your situation, though dogs are often quite adaptable so I think both options may well be a good option for Tuppence.
