White and orange ticked or orange roan

Can anyone explain what the difference is please, is there a difference in the colour of their noses and paws depending on which they r?  I think my Merlin is orange roan but he is registered as white and orange ticked, does this effect any registering of offspring later on or even showing? Can the breeder request a change ?

Just wondering as I get right confused over the colourings and markings sorry.

ive heard if they are roan the pads on paws will be solid coloured but if ticked or and white they will have pink/brown spotted pads
