Title: Zorro's trim
Post by: clairep4 on April 02, 2007, 10:12:22 AM
I did my first attempt at trimming Zorro at the weekend. He was very good although was very sleepy so had to be held up towards the end as he was nodding off  :luv:

I used a 9mm blade for his body as I didn't want him too short. He looks soooo much like Bella now it's very confusing

Before, the little fluff-monster:

After:

And just to prove that he is definitely one of Ringo's boys  :005:

Thanks Penel - I think it helps that he had all his feathering intact, unlike Bella who I'd hacked bits off when she'd had really awful matts after the snow. The groomer who taught me insisted on taking her that short which is too much I think, I think Zorro's look is more natural.

I have to say since Saturday his skirt has gone back to its sticky outy style so will need a bit more tidying up!

I think I'd be too nervous to do anyone else's dogs though  ph34r  - anyway you do a great job on Tilly!  ;)

can i pop jarv's paws in the post for you to 'do'?   the rest is fairly easy but i always end up giving him the 'kid at school who's mum cuts his hair pudding bowl stylie and don't even look at his crooked fringe' look around the foot region...

zorro looks fab :luv: :luv: :luv:  well done, even though it was a bit of an endurance test, your course was obviously worth it ;)

The paws were the one bit Zorro complained about, in fact he growled and gave me as evil a stare as he could muster (at which point I decided it was time for a break and a game to lighten things up a bit). I bought a clipper blade which is specifically for their feet, so the actual clipping bit of the blade is about 7mm width and it means you can get inbetween their toes quite easily (well as easily as you can on a wriggly boy  :005:).

That is wonderful work, maybe when I get my pup she can go up to you for a trim. I would expect her back though!!  :005:

You might get her back with Zorro in tow if he doesn't behave himself  :005:

He looks gorgeous. :luv:

I've just clipped Jarvis and you've put me to shame. Mind you i took everything off him. ph34r He was really well behaved and enjoyed it enough to hop back on the table himself! But wasn't too happy about the feet, and wiggled lots, so his feet are well and truly hacked. ph34r I'm not posting pictures!  :005:
