i've booked sam in the groomers for a wash, dry, nail clip, trimming between pads and inside his ears. my friend noramlly does this for me as she's a groomer but has been so busy at work (not a grommers) i have decided to book him in.
the place i have booked has come recommend by a cocker owner who has her boy handstipped there.
well i phoned today and the lady was really nice and went through everything that will happen while he is there, ask what sort of coat he had etc then she said he'd be there an hour and a half!!! and it only costs £10!!!
i was wondering of you that take you dogs to the groomers how much it costs. i was really suprised it will only be £10!!! handstipping cost £22! :D?

I'd say thats about right for a wash and manicure! Handstripping for £22 though... now thats a bargain!! I dont do it but groomers up here charge about £40 to £50 for that and about £25 to £30 for a normal clip. I only charge £20 cos I dont think i'm very good yet!

£22 to wash, clip, and nails done --- they charge an extra £3 to collect and deliver back home (its about 10 miles away)
-
I used to pay £25 for a bath, pet clip, nails etc......once I got two, I decided to learn how to do it myself :005:

I used to pay £27 for bath, clip etc

We were quoted £45 for a handstrip didn't ask about the rest and decided on the spot to do it myself :D
-
£35.00 for a mobile groomer (so the pre bath is a task for me) she only uses scissors though, no clippers.
Elsewhere local seemed to average £25
-
£30 and it's worth every penny. Bought clippers but couldn't do it and they looked awful ph34r
-
so i've bagged a bargain then!!! the woman who recommended them is the black cocker who is the only one i'd seen handstrpped and is gorgeous!!

We use 2 different groomers - depending on who we can get an apoointment with. Both wash, dry, handstrip, clean ears and trim nails and charge £23 - £25. The cheapest one even cleans anal glands, sprays with a nice doggy perfume and puts a sating bow round the neck!!!! :005:
-
£22 for each of mine for a mobile groomer, she clippers them & trims their nails, only down side I have to bath them the day before.
-
Sam is going in next week to hand stripped and it costs £35.
Think you've got yourself a bargain!

Betty gets the full works, bathed, clipped, nails, inner ears, inbetween pads, all for £18 :D
TBH, I'd happily pay double that, she does a really great job!
-
Tia gets bathed and clipped/trimmed including paws, ears and feathering etc for £25 and always come home smelling gorgeous :luv: :luv:
-
Jakey gets picked up and dropped back, bathed, clipped, nails cut, ears cleaned & anal glands all for £25. He smells lovely too when he comes home. Cheap considering she knows he has behavioural problems and needs more time.

I do Wilf myself these days but not Ruby --- she's way too scary :005:

My groomer charges £30 for William - that's a clip not a handstrip, with bath, nails clip etc... I'm happy to pay that because William loves her and skips into the grooming parlour every time we go. My groomer suggested every nine weeks, but I think seven will be better has he's starting to resemble a woolly mammoth after eight week :005:

Murphys cut costs £24 for a bath, clip and nails finished off with a spritz of body spray ::)
His groomer is lovely although I never believed her when she said he is well behaved until last time he was there we drove past and saw him sat perfectly on the grooming table - I couldn't believe it was the same dog!

Jasper went to the Groomers (in Bedwas) yesterday for the first time.
We paid £24 for the works - bathed, nails clipped, teeth brushed etc and a lovely new "fur-do". (see pics posted in puppies)
I was really pleased with the way Jasper was trimmed - she hadnt been too "severe" with him and had left some of his lovely golden locks :005: - The girl was really lovely and Jasper seemed to like her so I will definitely go back there - but not sure when/how often. We bath/shower/brush him at home so it will only be when he needs another trim....
Fran - I think you have got a good deal there!
-
I used to pay about £26, but I do Indie myself now, as there are no groomers on the Island, nearest one is a three hour drive away :005: Its amazing what you can learn when you have to ;)
-
Whistlers first puppy strip was £20 his full strip (about 2 hours) with bath, ears etc cost £25 I think its a bargin.

I pay £29 to have Baxter bathed, nails clipped and his coat tidied up with a coat king/thinning shears and scissors (I don't want him clipped). He's with the groomer for 2 hours.
He goes every 8 weeks.
I am gradually doing more and more of it myself... but he will not tollerate me going anywhere near his nether regions (groin) and this is where he always gets matted! >:(
