Title: Clipper Blade Sharpening
Post by: supergirl on September 26, 2012, 11:20:45 AM
I sent 3 Andis blades off for sharpening about 2 weeks ago, with a promise of 2-3 day turnaround, however have had nothing back.

I've phoned the company but can't get any reply which has started alarm bells ringing now, especially as they've taken payment.  Can't really afford new blades at the moment.

Just wondered where others send their clipper blades to be sharpened?

Hi

I send mine here:

Have used them a couple of times and very impressed with service.

Hope you get your blades back though  :-\

Oh that doesn't sound good Karen  :o  i hope you do eventually receive your blade's  :shades:

I am going to give Karin's recommendation a try, on return from hols.  There must be at least 5/6 blade's that need sharpening & they are so expensive to keep buying.  :shades:

Would you be able to let us know which company you are having prob's with?  :-\

I sent mine to Diamond Edge - can't remember how long it took but I think it was more than a few days  :-\

Thanks for all the recommendations.

I did finally manage to get a hold of the guy this morning, and was told that the blades went out yesterday, and said I should receive them today.  Apparently he'd been in hospital, lots of apologies.  Never like to disbelieve people, its just that when I spoke to him two weeks ago when he phoned to take payment I got the impression that he was sending them out that day which would be in line with the 2 day turnaround that he offers.  I know that its only 3 blades but it would be expensive to have to replace them £70-75 plus the cost of sharpening £15 would make for an expensive haircut!

Shall have to see what the postie brings.
