Puppy Fur
« on: January 07, 2014, 06:20:23 PM »
Hi,

Reggie is 7 months and already had one groom, just a wash and little trim to get him used to going. He is malting really bad... There is fluff and hair absolutely everywhere.... My carpet looks horrendous!!!

I took myself off to PAT yesterday very frustrated and was advised to buy a furminator. After reading the reviews on here I wish I hadn't  :-\ I have already opened it and given it a quick go and it worked well. How often should I be using this? Or should I stop and buy a coat king? They said everyday in the shop.

Any advice would be gratefully received. Oh... And he is a working cocker.

I never wanted to use anything like that so I always used a comb with an elastic band threaded through the teeth.  It works great and takes out the hair leaving the lovely coat underneath.

As the puppy hair is loose and coming out, a comb with elastic band threaded through would do the job quite easily and won't cut the hair like a furminator does, it would just get all that dead hair out.
