I'd love to know HOW clipping makes hair grow back in a different texture. It certainly doesn't do that to humans, as my OH and son can testify after their holiday buzz cuts!

Human hair is very different to dog hair though ;)

Totally agree a dogs coat/fur is completely different to our own hair. :)

I put off having my wcs clipped for 5 years but it became increasingly more matted and she was not enjoying being groomed. I have a very understanding groomer, I knew what look I wanted, I scaled the Internet for photos of the look I wanted and the look I didn't, and sent them to her!! She clipped to exactly the length I wanted so she still looked like the dog I recognised. We are now 8 weeks on from that first clip and her coat has grown a bit but hasn't really changed in the look,or feel of it.

I've never had Mollie clipped.  I just use the good old method of comb/elastic - does wonders!  :D

If you are paying for a handstrip and its £50 plus then the groomer should not be using a coat king. Coat king gives a simulated handstrip look without the effort and can alter the coat over time you would expect to pay less for this service imho and groomer should be explaining its not strictly handstripping.
