Dillons hairy legs - Help Please!!!
« on: January 20, 2007, 08:08:31 PM »
Hi guys, long time no speak... ;)

I need some help.   I am managing to take care of Dills' coat nicely with the coat king - even though it has gone quite cotton wooly, but that is another thread.

I have a problem with his incredibly hairly legs.   Have tried thinning scissors - but it either looks as if nothing has been done, or it looks like he has been attacked by a madman!!

How do I get his legs nice and short (well, the hair, not the actual legs  ::)) and leave some feathering where he is meant to have feathering.   Do I resort to clippers??
If I use scissors it honestly looks soo mad - his hair is sooo thick I just end up hacking away for hours...

HELP.....

Petra

Nice to see you Petra. Where are you these days. (Perhaps you are just spending hours on Dill's coat? ;))

Can't help much. Buddy is learning to live with the "attacked by a madman" look.

Molo is also currently sporting the "attacked by a mad( wo)man" look - I made a right hash of his front legs last time  ph34r

The front of his legs are OK, I use the thinning scissors to take the fur really short (it takes several days) - but in my effort to leave some feathering, I just made him look as if he has been assaulted by Edward Scissorhands  ph34r

It has now got long enough to *correct* - so I am plucking up the courage to tackle them next weekend, I think  :-\

I groomed (aka hacked at) Jaspers legs before the COL meet yesterday to avoid bringing home the hills, problem was I think I took more feathers than what I was attacking.

So - no help but you are obviously not alone!  ;)

Coco has verrrrrrrry hairy legs (a bit like me  :005:) but she has them clipped at the groomers.  They look fine as long as they don't clip too short - people still comment on her gorgeous furry legs but they only hold half a ton of mud now  ::)

Could someone post a pic of "overly" hairy legs so I could see what the problem is ? :shades:
