The legs
« on: April 01, 2007, 10:36:38 PM »
Hi everyone,

I have bought the thinning scissors and size 20 coat king.........what do people do the legs with?

Oh, and another thing, do I have to buy clippers or is it not necessary?

Lots of problems to get my girl to stand still while I actually do them anyway, ::) but I do want to try....I'm another who is not happy with my groomer! :embarassed:

Thanks Cass

If the hair won't strip out from the legs, or if you're not handstripping, then use thinning shears on the legs.

Clippers are handy for shaving out the hair (and mats  ph34r) in the pads of the feet and the armpits. If she doesn't get mats in the armpits or lets you comb them out then that isn't necessary, but I do think a small inexpensive trimmer is good for doing the pads, as they can get some pretty nasty mats in between the toes and the big back pad.

Thanks for that spanielcrazy, no not handstripping, and she doesn't get mats.

I will see how I go, doesn't need too much doing to her at the moment, she had been
clipped very short last time at the groomers! >:(
