coat king question
« on: July 31, 2007, 06:16:15 PM »
I'm looking at buying a coat king for Zephie's coat, which gives the smoothest look the 26 blade Superfine or the 20 blade Ex-Fine?

I think it's down to personal perference, I've got both and I prefer the 20 blade

I asked a similar question recently, here's the link if it helps  ;)

I opted for the 26 blade, although I might now buy a 20 blade for a shorter cut  :-\

I have used the coat king on my American and it was good, however, I find the Furminator even better as it seems to get out much more undercoat than the coat king and it doesn't seem to cut any fur like the coat king does.

Ebay and some other on-line shops. Just google for Furminator.

Someone said however that it might not work so well on English spaniels as they have little undercoat... Check the other thread on here about hand stripping. Furminators are quite expensive, so it might be worth getting more opinions from English cocker owners.
