Sam is currently in getting trimmed, but there was a bit of confusion when I got there.  Apparently he was only booked in for a bath and a brush, then top and tail - bit no cutting of his coat!!  This is not what I wanted and if I'd known this, I would not have waited  so long for just that and took him somewhere else!!

However, I spoke nicely to the girl and she spoke to the groomer who agreed to trim his legs, face and tidy up the rest of him.

So, waiting for a phone call to go and pick him up, which will probably be about 5pm, so before and after pics will be showing later.

Hope he looks alright when I get him later!!

Philtrum - I know, long time no speak.  Where have you been??  Hope wee Charlie is doing well, would love to see an up to date photo of him!!

Sam is now back and Peter (the groomer) said he was an    He usually hates it when we try to dry him with the hairdryer, but he was fine today with the dryer!!

He never took too much hair off his back as he said most of it wasnt ready to come out, but he will hand strip him when we take him back for his next appointment.

So here you are, before and after:

BEFORE

AFTER

They're not great photos, but I am really pleased with the job.

Any honest opinions are welcome!

Our trainer at puppy class advised us not to get him clipped as he has such a nice coat on his back and I've seen some cockers who have had their whole coat shaved off and I didn't like it.  I know it's easier and some owners prefer this, but IMO I like his coat the way it is.  The groomer is going to hand strip him next time, so I will probably notice a bigger difference.

He also had loads of whiskers on his nose and chin and that's all gone.  It makes him look soooo grown up, he doesn't look like a puppy anymore!!   :'( :'(
