Tummy Feathering/skirt
« on: February 26, 2008, 01:36:21 PM »
Paisley is 4 months now, she has increasingly fluffy legs but doesn't seem to have grown any hair on her tummy yet....not enough for it to hang down anyway, she has a little on her chest but not much really!  I was just wondering at what age does the tummy feathering usually appear?!  I'd be happy for it to stay nice and short though!  Helps with keeping clean on wet walks!  :005:

Usually the nice length comes from the adult coat, which usually changes over from puppy to adult coat around 9 months old (give or take)

Some dogs just don't grow a lot of belly coat , and some grow tons, some in between, so it's luck of the genetic draw as to how much you get
