Legs and belly
« on: August 24, 2008, 06:44:35 PM »
Hi all,
Up until now, I've just been brushing Heidi with a regular double-sided brush. However, after a recent visit to the groomers for what was supposed to be just a wash and a trim-out of any knots, she came back with her legs and belly clipped. >:(

As a result, I'm determined to take a more active interest in her grooming myself, so that knots can be kept at bay and she'll only need to go to the groomers for a wash.

What are the best ways of keeping her belly and legs knot-free and silky? Are there any specific tools that I need and what methods are best?

To keep knots and tangles at bay you need to comb her feathers through everyday either using a metal comb or slicker brush, a grooming spray will also help you get through and prevent tangles :D

Thanks for that KellyS. I invested in our first ever slicker brush yesterday (how did Heidi make it to a year old in one piece! ph34r) so will try to keep the knots under control using that.
