cuttin nails
« on: July 10, 2004, 10:06:36 AM »
Hey Guys,

Can anyone give me a guide as to how short I should be cutting Bailey's nails.  At the moment I only take thevery tip off when they get sharp.  Im terrified of taking too much off.

I've heard before that you should check where the quick starts and not get too close to that but I find it really hard to see where the quick starts on Bailey's nails.

Anyone got any photos they can post of property cliped nails?

Would really appreciate your help

Thanks

Sorry I have no photos.
But when you clip the nails, put your dog on his back, slide the nailclippers under the nail from the root to the tip, and when they stop to the part where the nail starts to curve, thats where you should cut  :D ..
There's only one, -but that one is a lion

Thanks for that Katina

I had another go at Bailey's nails following your advice and I think he is adjusting to his shorter-than-ever nails!

Thanks again
