Changing Shampoo And Conditioner
« on: October 15, 2004, 07:19:51 PM »
Jasper's coat has changed in texture over the past few months and has become much softer with a lot more fluff and drier too causing it to matt and knot so much easier. His side skirts are sticking out like a puff-ball skirt(rememebr those  )The coat king doesn't seem to be able to pull anywhere near out what it used to and he doesn't particularly like me pulling it out by hand - wuss-pot :D

I therefore want to try another shampoo and conditioner. I've used a variety over the years using Pro-fleece in the recent past - So - ideas please?

Was gutted to find that Dezynadog's web-site is being redesigned

Pam, along with Dezynadog, I also use Groomers, they have a wide range to suit all coat and skin types.
As for conditioner, I use a really nice thick coconut one from Asda's. I just dilute a small amount in a spare shampoo bottle - but always rinse afterwards.
Also works well when brushing them through to have a diluted solution in a pump spray bottle.  :)

I like the Groomers range too. Sometimes with fluffy, fly away coats, Ring 5 Texture Plus Shampoo also works well.

Hi, i use All Systems pure Lanolin and All Systems botanical conditioner. I mix one tablespoon of pure lanolin with two tablespoons of botanical conditioner and mix with two pints of warm water. When you have shampooed and rinsed  pour the whole two pints over your dogs coat and massage it well into the coat for about two mins. Rinse thoroughly and dry as normal  :) . I find that this really does help to ease out puppy coat and the first time that i used it on Alfie the amount of puppy coat that came out was amazing! It leaves their coat silky and very soft. Make sure that you mix per instructions though and rinse well, as it can leave the coat slightly greasy otherwise. However after a day or so this will be absorbed by the coat  :) .  http://www.hubint.com/
