Italian breeders/groomers
« on: August 10, 2010, 08:51:20 AM »
Hi to all, we have now been here 3 weeks from Australia and all is well. The dogs arrived the
day after us and arrived good the barking and squeals that came from the crates
made all the loading dock look to see what was comming out. Jetpets was great
although they told us we had to be there on time for their arrival 6.50. We were
there at 6.30 but the offices don't open until 8.00 so it took over 3 hrs to get
paperwork done going backwards and forwards to different offices so that was 3
more hrs in the crates. If you wanted them delivered to your door it would cost
$1,500.00 they pick up from home so we opted for a taxi ride home put them in
their portable crate 60.00 Eur. It could be my new business. The weather is hot
30s everyday and the poor dogs have their winter coats today's challenge is to
try to find a cocker breeder here to get them a good haircut. We are right near
the Vatican every morning we walk to the grass area where the local dogs go for
a run and toilet my boy (plus locals) all pee against the walls not sure if its
their opinion or I'm going to get zapped. The dogs have joined the pack, even
Indi who has been known to always be a little bossy is very subdue and if they
are playing to rough lets me know she wants to go home. Kody well he just gets
along with everyone and takes it all in his stride. Will start looking for dog
clubs and hunting clubs when we get into our house which is out in the burbs on
3/4 acre better than a 1 bed apartment right in town.
Does anyone know any Italian Breeders in Rome I don't want to go to just anyone for a haircut with language problems they could end up looking bad

Ciao

Wow, Rome- lucky you! It sounds fab, right next to the Vatican too :o.

I dont know of any groomers there but a good idea would be to look through a few italian newspapers, magasines and find a groomer, then take your dogs along with a photo of what you would like them to look like so that there isnt as much of a language problem between you, you can just show him/her the photo. If you tell us what style you would like your dogs we might be able to put you a photo on here, either that or scour the photoboards!

Good luck :D :luv: xxx

Hi :D
I don't know if this will help, but I know of a cocker breeder in Italy. It's not in Rome, it's near Florence, which is not that far. I don't know if it's worth the effort for you. Maybe you could phone them and ask of a groomer in Rome  Sorry, it's all I can do :embarassed:
Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link, but you can google "francini's cocker contatto".
Life is just better with two cockers :D
