Top knot trimming!
« on: September 15, 2012, 12:16:43 PM »
I realise top knots are a bit of a love/hate subject on here but...

for those of you who have a cocker with a top knot, how do you trim it? Jem's is getting to the point where it will be in her eyes and it needs a tidy. I've got thinning scissors and normal scissors.

Tips would be gratefully received, thanks :)

We like our liver boy to have a bleached blonde mohican as that's part of the reason why we fell in love with him at the rescue.

We hand strip most of the fluff off the top leaving enough to define the mohican, thin out what remains with the thinning scissors, and trim with straight scissors so that they're short enough to stand up on their own.

Thanks. I will give it a cautious go!

I'd love to see a photo of your boy, he sounds gorgeous :)

use thinning scissors, unless you going too show him, then its going to have too be stripped out,
