grooming table
« on: October 18, 2012, 12:03:48 PM »
I am looking into getting a cheap grooming table that folds so that I can use and store it in the garage....I am just not sure what size to get...
I have looked at this http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewitem?itemId=261075733128&cmd=VIDESC&index=6&nav=WATCHING&nid=32142940564

Does anyone have any suggestions on size or have a cheapish table that they are using. It's only for a home clip so every 6-8 weeks ish, for my working type cocker.
I'm normally on my phone, please forgive any typing errors!

I have the same one :). It's big enough for Charlie to lie down on and big yet small enough for him to stand on and no got walkabouts on it.

I bought a small table from here http://www.dezynadog.co.uk/   Have had it about 10years and still going strong.  It folds up and goes in the cupboard under the stairs.

The first ebay link is •Size : Length - 76.5cm, Width - 46.5cm, Height - 83cm
the second one •  The table size is L90cm * W60cm * H75cm

As I'm quite tall I wouldn't go for the second one (it would be too small for us). Also in my experience, Charlie would be squirming all over if we had the bigger sized one.

The one we have (1st ebay link) - is nice and sturdy (we've used a couple of other tables at ringcraft one one of them wobbles all over - this one is lovely and solid and sturdy).

I paid £50 for mine (including £14 p&p). I couldn't find a cheaper one at the time.
My beautiful little boy Charlie :)

Thanks both very much for your advice. I think I will bite the bullet and get the taller one off eBay.....might lie to the husband though as he said I could buy a cheap little table.....I think he was thinking plastic camping cheap job  :005: may as well spend a bit more and get something proper with the arm so I'm not trying to wrestle and clip !

Unless you are not very tall, the majority of camping tables would not be high enough to clip/groom in comfort for your back! Not just an excuse, its absolutley true!

Worth paying a bit more sometimes for a stable table too, I have a folding ones I bought to take to shows, it's ok for a quick brush through but isn't really stable enough to do a full groom!

We've this one from Groomers.

Two heights, easy to fold and store and very stable when set up.

Have you got the MDF or plastic covered top ?
People laugh at me because I'm different, but I laugh at them because they are all the same.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

It's pink plastic and has an embossed non slip surface.
