Think we can safely say that Pearl is fully recovered from her ailments this year......7 hours on a shoot today and she's now flaked out but held her own all day she even kept up with the biggest springer spaniel I've ever seen!
Plus, aside from the odd scent distraction, she was fab! She was such a well behaved dog we even joined in the beating and have been invted back.
I am shattered but just delighted at how much she enjoyed herself :D she was so happy running like a loon on the tilled field - think she thought it was a beach :005:
- Oops! spellling error corrected....

Thanks everyone for your comments - I am very proud of her, all the dogs were focussed on working and she just fitted in :D
I don't seem to be able to get the new photobucket to work so....

wow! check you 2 out!! well done .. I could only hope for Hazel to be able to do this.
My mum recently got a working cocker (she has joined the forum but hasn't posted yet!! ) and I'm planning on her and Hazel going to a gundog training class together once Maizy has some 'normal' training under her little belt :)

ooh! how fab!
The Gamekeeper had 4 working cockers and a Lab - I think Pearl thought it was an extra long COL meet-up :005:
We have another day in December being lined up and 5th Jan for definite if you are interested....organised through work ;) I can PM you with details....it's a novice shoot so young dogs are more than welcome. McCoy, below, had his first warm retrieve - his Mum was bursting with pride for him :D

Well done for giving it a go and Pearly must have been well behaved to get an invite back.

Thanks John - she was well behaved but I think a lot of it was the influence of the other dogs. They were definitely there to work and she picked up on it...even managed to get onto the tractor trailer herself which is a first given she's always wanted to be lifted into the car :o
The best behaviour was by the guns tho. We were stationed next to a gun each drive [other than the one where I had a go at beating and Pearl was acting as a block]. Every time they started firing, she plonked her bottom on the ground and stayed rooted to the spot by my left leg :D couldn't ask for more really!
Appreciate the recommendation of Kronch - she has much more energy on it and her coat is lovely now
