down loading videos to computer

Have got a couple of videos on my phone (alcatel). Anybody know how or if I can transfer them to my laptop. I have a cable that came with phone but  dont know what to do phone wise.

You should be able to do so, but you will need the right software.  The manual with your 'phone should tell you how to do it and you may need to download the required program from the maker's website.

ps could not leave it there.
so just plugged phone to pc and switched on. Hey presto. pc does it all by its self. got to figure out now how to get them on here.

Your 'phone is probably using Movie Maker which is supplied with Windows.  You should upload your video to Photobucket, or a similar hosting site, or to YouTube, and provide a link to your post on here.
