Any tips on ball throwing under furniture

Ok so Ash loves her ball but as soon as we go inside she makes a beeline for the sofa to throw it under

Once she has done and can’t get it she nags you until you get it out

As soon as we take it out it is removed and she is then fine with it being put away

Any idea why she does this?

I imagine its just become a ritual, - Humphrey behaves a bit like that with sticks he brings back from walks, - he won’t let me have them but puts them down, very precisely, in the same spot in the yard and is then quite happy to leave them there before going into the house. I can’t persuade him to drop them anywhere else!
