For people who dont know we are expecting to bring Barney our beautiful chocolate roan boy home in 13 days time.
at 11.30 this evening i switched the machine on and found an email from my breeder asking me to get in touch with her it is nothing to panic about but she needs to speak to us(damm my phone had ran out of power).
i have rattled of a couple of emails str8 away asking her to ring me anytime day or night as i dont think i will sleep tonight.
i am so worried we have fallen in love with him already, he has a lovely calm temperment.
he was due to have his first jabs and check up this week so i hope it isnt anything to do with that.
i dont know what to do. :(

It happens, and often it isn't related to anything - he's been thorughly chewcked by the vet Im surre he'll be fine.
He is obviously going to be adored to bits!
x
Did the breeder really not notice this though?

Eye colour changes gradually in puppies - they all start off with blue eyes which gradually change to brown as time goes on so this probably explains why Paul's breeder has only just noticed Barney's eyes. Different coloured eyes (one brown, one blue) do crop up from time to Cockers & generally it's just a cosmetic "problem" if you can call it a problem. There is an increased risk of deafness in blue eyed dogs as well as cats but as Barney has had a thorough check up by a vet I'm sure he is A-OK :) Deafness does occur in Cockers as in many breeds with the spotting gene (white markings) but is not common.

:) I think he's even more gorgeous with different colour eyes and very special  x

Me too  I bet you can't wait till you bring the little fella home Paul :D
he now has his own cupboard, which the whole family delight in looking into at regular periods

Oh Paul, I don't know about the other members, but I definitely feel that it would be VERY cruel to keep him in a cupboard! :D
Only 8 days to go

:) Hi - just caught up on this thread - since getting Bramble - I suddenly seem to have even less time than ever!!!!
He is soooooooooooooooooooo georgeous!!!! His eyes are remarkable!!!!! Even though B is only 14 weeks old - she seems huge now and the holding in one hand days are long gone!!!!!!
I don't think I slept properly that last week before getting B - excitement, nerves, have we done the right thing, etc..... so be warned!!!
Have you got far to go to get him?

i havent been able to sleep for weeks and weeks,
we live in east london and barney lives in kent so about an hour and a quarter.
tomorow is only six days
he he
Well, Paul, it's May AT LAST!
Only 4 more days to go!
By the way, is the whole family as excited as you, or are you the only nuts one?
Don't blame you, he's truly gorgeous :P

we are as a family very very excited, perhaps i am keener to verbalise this than the others but they are, Oliver (4) and alice (3) spend their days on all fours playing barney,
what is funny is when Alice is tired she shouts she doesn't want Barney (her tune changes the minute she has had some rest.
ROLL ON THURSDAY
Yep...We have lost two of Ben's combs this week. (My fault)
Heard Buddy barking today, but couldn't see him......he'd managed to sqeeze in behind the sofa and was stuck!
And NEVER leave an unread newspaper down...our don't get weed on but do get chewed! AND our copy of The Perfect Puppy has been chewed. Not sure that was innocent puppy fun though!

Its tuesday evening so you're nearly there.
Its just the best fun.
Good luck.
thinking of you all. :D

Jane

I know how you feel i thought it saturday today, i do wish it was tues though
Oh yes,
it is a regular madhouse at the moment,
more spending yesterday, will it ever end?

Ever end? Its only just starting
Alfie has cost us a fortune :)
Having a downstairs loo put in so the parents could stay with us at christmas instead of us going there.
Having to buy a new fridge freezer to make room for the plumbing of the new loo.
A new leather sofa cos hed totally covered the old one in muck and I couldnt get it clean
A brand new pair of shoes which he ate within 24 hours of them being in the house
New set of towels so I had plenty of old ones :)
And now a bigger mortgage so we can move to a house with a bigger garden
so i guess it never stops really :)
:P Only two more days to go!!!!! :P
There can't be anything left to buy this pup, can there?
Even at 7, we had trouble with Ben at first. We had spent ages trying to tell him that puppies need a lot of sleep etc, might (MIGHT???) nip, etc, etc, and we thought he understood pretty well.
But we found that he was quietly a bit disappointed with his pup for a while (I'd say a few weeks or more) because he hadn't really understood the implications of all that. Even now he does still try to poke/wake Buddy up if he fancies a bit of playtime.
Just be prepared for that, you've got two younger than Ben, it might feel a bit like a war zone for a while!!
BUT enjoy, enjoy enjoy

absolutley,
we look at our two and think what is poor barney letting himself in for, but then i look at how Oliver and Alice are with the Rabbit and G Pigs, how calm they can be and how gentle, so there is a hope.
I hope.
by the way you're right,
Two Days To Go
Paul,
If it's only 2 days to go for you, that means it is now only 4 for me!!!! How slow is this week going - roll on Thursday ( for you) Saturday (for me).
Just think this time next week we will be able to post a message actually about our pups instead of as expectant parents!
Have you got Barneys name tag yet? We went to PAH at weekend and bought Bob's -it made it seem so close actually holding his name tag.

Ok i would have thought this was very "sad" had i not did exactly the same thing...... :P

i cant belive it what is tonight going to be like, i am off for a week, needless to say i am going to be working late tonight so hopefully that should pass some time.
i am sure i will be littering the threads of COL tonight, bear with me and my neurosis.
;)
I'm a little bit envious, you know! :D

:D TOMORROW :D
I'm soooooooo excited........it's the General Election. How fab is that?
Oh, and I think Paul has something on tomorrow too!

do you think we should change his name to Tony , Micheal or Charles depending upon the result.
i think not.
