furbaby :021:
A huge thanks to Jane S for pointing me in the right direction :luv:
Pup is nephew to ElvieMog's Madoc so it's nice having a relative on here, as I never managed to track any of Odie's down.
We are collecting him on Friday 4th October, he is another golden, after all my concerns about getting the same colour, I just could not resist  I hope my angel Odie approves of my choice
I'm hoping I'm better equipped this time round and don't have the messy problems I had last time ph34r
We are also struggling again with the name, I'd like something unusual (seems COL'ers have covered most spaniel names already :lol2:) so suggestions welcome. Max and Archie are favoured by hubby and daughters though.
Will post photos when the little fella arrives, till then wish me lots of luck!! Lesley xx
-
That's fantastic Lesley. :D
After reading your posts, you must be over the moon to finally have a new furbaby on the way. Hopefully he will help heal the massive hole that Odie left.
I don't have any suggestions for names I'm fraid but look forward to hearing more when you have more news to post. :D
-

That is great news Lesley, really pleased for you and your family.
I like Archie as a name, but I also like Bracken (as he will be the colour of autumnal bracken) I am sure whatever name you choose, he will be a most loved doglet.
regarding probs - I am sure you will cope - fore-warned is fore-armed, don't they say.
Irene
-
Fantastic news :D love the name Archie (was my grandads name) :luv:
-
You are so right Irene :lol2: It came as a bit of a surprise last time round but surely I can't be so unlucky to get two mucky pups ph34r :005:
Thanks everyone :luv:
-
Congratulations Lesley, really delighted for you :D If Jane recommended the breeder he'll be a good 'un. Gold boys are the best, especially ones with unusual names :005: Looking forward to seeing photos :luv:
-

-

So pleased for you all, and I am sure Odie approves! How about Morten for the name? :005: :005: :005:
I did actually think of that ph34r but hubby just gave me "the look" :lol2:
Favouring Archie atm, not exactly unusual but everyone likes the name!
-
Woo-hoo!
Great stuffx Absolutely thrilled
to bits for you. :luv:
-
Great news - can't wait to see some pics :D
I am sure Odie will be watching over you all and giving the new pup some ideas for mischief :005:
-

I too am sure Odie :luv: will approve.
Only 5 more sleeps :005:
-
Yes, only 4 more full nights' kip :lol2: It's a good job I'm used to it, what with kids and dogs :D
-
Congratulations!! Can't wait to see photos ;)
-
Great news Lesley :luv: so pleased for you he will help mend your broken heart :luv:. Do you like the name Bronsen? Jake? Jenson? x x x
-
We can't have Jake as my brother's dog is called that and hubby mentioned Jensen but no way am I calling him after a racing driver (the F1 season drives me bonkers :005:).
-
Congratulations, I'm really pleased for you all. :cool4:
No help on choosing a name I'm afraid, I do actually have a super one up my sleeve but I'm keeping that for when/if we get another boy ;)
Looking forward very much to seeing some photos of your new puppy :luv:
-
Spoilsport :buttkick: :011:
-
Really pleased for you Lesley :D No help with names I'm afraid as it takes us ages to choose names :lol2:
-
It's because it's for a boy, I have literally millions of girls ones to choose from :lol2: It was the same when I had my 2 children, we've got daughters fortunately as we'd be still arguing about boy names 9 years later :005:
-
Spoilsport :buttkick: :011:
I think arm is a funny name for a dog ;) :011:
-
He he very funny Irene :005:
-
I think Archie is a great name but as he's coming from Wales you could have a Welsh name - Ianto or Dylan aren't too unpronounceable! So pleased you've found your golden boy and looking forward to sharing stories. I must say, Madoc seems far too young to be an uncle!
-
excellent news so excited for you pics asap please
-
Yes, I was trying to think of an appropriate doggy sounding Welsh name but have failed so far.... Madoc can be a big brother instead of an uncle then :lol2:
-
Spoilsport :buttkick: :011:
Sorry! :005:
Other names I have in reserve are Luca, Roddie and Edwin.
Hope you manage to come up with a name before your boy comes home, choosing the right name is so difficult!
-
Congratulations, I bet you cant wait :luv:
My names for future furbaby's are Wilbur and Ernie
-
Congratulations, so pleased for you. No help with names, there is a dog at club called Owen, I like that name, but it's not unusual. I like Archie as well.
-
I am really pleased for you :luv:
No name suggestions here! Have one in mind for no. 2 working cocker (if that ever happens) but it's a Maori word so completely unsuitable :lol2:
-
What about Bryn, Griff or Idris
-
So weird, just been looking up Welsh names again and Brynn is the one I liked, I also like Luca (after a gorgeous tour guide I met in Pisa ph34r :005:)
Another thing of fate - my pup's dad has the same birthday as my Odie and he's from the next town to us!!
-
Soooo pleased for you.
Not much good with names but there's Jason (and the golden fleece) or I believe Auryn is Welsh for the golden one ;)
-
A good one there, I've been trying to find words which translate to "golden" or "golden one".....
-
Congratulations! I hope the little one brings you and your family lots of joy. No real help with names but I like Rhys.
-
How about Emrys or Ivor?
-
Would always this of Ivor the Engine :lol2: and you can imagine the problems I'd have with trying to say and spell the other one ph34r
Keep them coming though, something may just 'click' ;)
-
Congratulations on your new puppy. :cool4: :cool4: I'm sure Odie will approve of his new brother and will advise him on 'appropriate' behaviour!! :005: :005: I know 'Archie' isn't Welsh but I think it's a lovely name. I'm so pleased you've found a dog to fill a space in the Odie shaped hole in your heart. :luv: :luv: Diana
-
Its all very exciting! What about naming your new boy after one of the Welsh gold mines or Jewellers?
Clogau? Although I like Brynn :D
X
-
That's lovely news, looking forward to seeing the photos!
-
My friend has a lovely dog called Eric, he's really cute and we just all love his name.
Angie x
-
Harley and Bentley are lovely names ............. no link to anything in particular though..
-
Lovely news. I like Bryn too.
-
I like Dylan and Dewi although my next golden boy may be called Hucknall after Mick - he has cocker spaniel hair!
-
Brilliant news :cool4: :cool4: can't wait to see piccies of the new addition. Archie is obviously a great name :shades: but if he's Welsh I like Telyn which is welsh for harp.
-
I wondered if you were going to post ph34r If I decide on Archie, sorry for nicking your name :005:
-
What about Tom ( after Tom Jones!)
-
What about Haydn, as in Aled Haydn Jones.
-
So pleased for you and not long to wait, loads of pictures needed :luv:
-
I like Haydn :luv:
-
It's so difficult choosing names isn't it? Don't forget Evan (or Efan or Ifan - the f in Welsh is pronounced the same as v in English) or Morgan & I quite like Teilo (pronounced tile-oh & a Welsh saint like Madoc) or you could go for the really testing names like Illtyd, Brynach, Glyndwr, Llewelyn or Caradog!
-
We had enough trouble with the name Odie, it's amazing how many people either hadn't heard of it or couldn't spell it!
-
I wondered if you were going to post ph34r If I decide on Archie, sorry for nicking your name :005:
:005: :005: Can't go wrong with an Archie! And of course my Archie is really called Archer so tooooootally different really! ;)
-
When we first got Stan back in January, he was called Adam, his KC name is ***** Stand'n'Deliver, I think Sarah his breeder is a bit of an Adam Ant fan :005:
-
He he :lol2: I don't know his KC name as breeder hasn't registered litter yet (apparently as soon as you do, it goes straight on their website and they are inundated with calls!).
Just wondering if they can register our pup with our details or we have to change it after breeder has registered litter in their name....
-
So pleased for you Lesley, i cannot wait to see pictures of him :luv:
Stephanie, George and Hamish xxx

Pups I have had, have been registered with the breeder first, then I paid KC to have them changed to my name through 'change of ownership' form, given to me by the breeder. You can if you want pay for the 5 gen pedigree and you get a free puppy book (worth £4 according to KC). You can do these things by post with cheque or if you are willing credit/debit card, or online. Minstrel's (& I presume all other reg'd pups) came with a unique reg no.

the above link may help you ;)
-
Yay - delighted to read your news!
I like the name Otto, but it's not exactly Welsh ;-)
Best wishes and can't wait to see some piccies of the little fella - roll on Friday :-)
-
Aaaw what lovely news Lesley :luv: Can't wait to see loads of photos ;)
-
Cheers!!
Thanks for info Irene, yes we changed Odie's registration info after we got him so presumably we'll be doing the same again.
I had to laugh this morning, my eldest DD came down with a "Welcome Home ARCHIE" picture, it seems in her head the name is sorted :005:
-
Really pleased for you Lesley, look forward to many pictures! I like the name Winston or Huw :D

Well, not long now...
Have dented my bank balance getting "essential" items in for him and have booked him at vets for 1st vac and puppy check on Monday evening.
I've invested in this puppy sling which seems strong enough to carry him when older too, so it means we can still go out and about with him but can limit his exercise:

Have we got a name yet??!! We had an 8 hour round trip to collect Alfie and decided on his name as he lay asleep in a tiny bed on the back seat of the car in the dark in November. Good luck for tomorrow.
-
One more sleep to go...... actually, one more sleep until you hardly get any sleep again, so I expect you're already in bed. Shhhhh!
-
How exciting! Really pleased for you.... and can't wait to see a photo
-
:luv: :luv:
What lovely news. You must be so thrilled and excited. I love the names Ludo, Otto and Milo - none of them very Welsh though.
-
We are staying in a Holiday Inn an hour away from the breeders. And yes, I'm in bed (not asleep though as daughters still hyper!!).
-
What about Dylan, that's a good welsh name.
-
We had enough trouble with the name Odie, it's amazing how many people either hadn't heard of it or couldn't spell it!
Tell me about it - it's my surname!
-
Today's the day lovely lady *squee* :D

I've been staying away from the puppy section (I get too broody ph34r) so only just seen this - but what fantastic news, so very pleased for you and your family that a new pup is coming to live with you, how exciting, he is coming today :luv: :luv:

-
:luv: you should have him by now so excited for you, keep looking for pics ;)
:005: :005: I think the first thing learned by a COL puppy is how to pose beautifully for pics for the forum - forget toilet training, posing for our delight is much more important ;) ;)
