I'm going to meet my pup on sunday, I'm soooo excited. He's a blue roan and is 5 weeks old, so it'll be a few weeks yet before he comes home. Just keeping everything crossed that it all goes ok. Got a list of questions ready to ask the breeder - Just wondering if their is anything in particular I should ask.

Everything is covered in this (http://www.cockersonline.co.uk/Reputable_Breeders) article on finding a reputable breeder ;)
I would suggest that you ring the breeder back and cover the basics on the phone to ensure the breeder is someone you would like to visit - that way you won't fall in love with the cute puppies let your heart rule your head and buy a pup regardless ;)

Oh wow! Blue Roans are gorgeous :luv: :luv: I'm not sure if you may have already asked this but if the parents have both been Optigen tested (Eye tested) and if either parent have been hip scored.
What's the breeding like?

Both parents have been eye scored. The mum is a wilmerella, I can't remember about the dads lines ph34r. Don't worry, I'll make sure my camera battery is charged!

Yeah it was through shelley (Tia's owner) putting me in touch with Tia's breeder that I got in touch with the breeder that I'm going to see. Tia is :luv:

Hi kelly. we brought our pup home 4 weeks ago & she's gorgeous although you will prob have read my new topic :huh: :huh: I wish you loads of luck and love with your new baby. Tilky is a blue roan & although lots of mischief we wouldn't swap her for the world. Looking forward to the pics!!!. jenny

I would ask about health tests on the sire and dam - particularly eye tests that they have had for PRA and not just a quick check up at the vets. Scope out the kind of set up they have - are the pups in the house or outside? Do they have other litters apart from the one you are looking at? Are they different breeds of dog? Do they look fat and clean and healthy? Is Mum happy and healthy? Can you see Dad? What food do they recommend for their pups? When do they let them go to their new homes? Do they endorse their pups' pedigrees? Do they have a contract stipulating that they will always take their pups back should their owners no longer be able to keep them - at any stage of their life?

I have a short list of names that keeps getting longer :lol: I'm going to wait and see what he looks like and what his personality is like before I pick a name - although I am quite taken with Toby.

Tilly's dad is Wilholme Mystic Memory of Wilmerella and Poppy's is Classicway Chance meeting at Wilmerella who is Tilly's Dad's son :D

Here he is! Spent an hour with him and his breeders this afternoon. Will be fetching him home in 5 weeks - oh, how that time is going to drag. Still not thought of a name........

Hi kelly he looks a cutie. I collect my puppy in 2 weeks i to got stuck on names,so type into Google dogs names and a million doggy name sites came up some are really funny how about addaboy or addagirl....nah... toby is still a good name. so after spending hours trundling thru the sites I still end up with the unusual and different.. yes its... MOLLY :005:

Aaawww, he is really cute, I almost had a blue roan this time. ph34r If Archie hadn't been Archie, he would have been Toby, but I look after a little boy called Toby, so I thought it might get a bit confusing. :-\ :huh:

And you're right the weeks are so going to drag! ph34r ::) :005: But my advice is sleep for the entire time until he comes home! :005:
I've just called my new American cocker Morgan and I also have a Barney and a Max. I'm just trying to think of the boys on our training classes, there is Solo, Benson, Skye, Tizer, Alfie, Woody, Bandit, Dinky, Harvey, Barnaby, Toby, Bramble. I think that's about it.
Before deciding on a name I spend a few days walking round the house calling the names out that are on my short list to see if they work or me or if they sound stupid! :lol:
