Puppy Check Question
« on: May 11, 2005, 10:30:18 AM »
We took Bob for his puppy check on Monday and there were a couple of things the vet commented on. I'm sure they are nothing to worry about, but wondered if anybody else has had these comments made?

3 things were mentioned.
1. He has a big head?!?
2. He has a short jaw.
3. Only one testicle has dropped.

As far as the big head goes, I told Bob that must mean he has got more brains then(!) and I am hoping the other testicle drops eventually. What does the short jaw mean though and will it grow or have any effect on him?

When can we expect to feel the other testicle descend and if it doesn't what then??

The vet may have been talking about Bob's bite perhaps (bite meaning how the teeth are aligned)? If the upper jaw is short, it makes the bite undershot & if the lower jaw is short, then the bite will be overshot. However, at this stage I would not worry as Bob's jaws will do a lot more growing before he's fully mature ;) His head looks pretty normal in the photo to me too :D
