Hackles
« on: January 10, 2013, 05:50:19 PM »
Bracken is 17 weeks now and he loves playing with dogs more so dogs his age, he meets a wcs who's 24 weeks and show cocker whos 12 months and plays to his heart content he loves running with them the odd tumble, he's quiet when playing with them where they are quite vocal, but no nastiness whats so ever but I have noticed his hackles are up when playing, is this normal? :D

I think I did read somewhere (on here?) that there is more than one reason for them having their hackles up, so I'd guess it is probably normal.
Julie, Ruby and Jem. And never forgetting our first precious dog, Cassie x

It can be due to excitement, yes.  Juno's used to raise whenever she was rough and tumbling with other pups.
