I'm so very, very sorry, how utterly devastating . I want to repeat what Karen said:

I am sure many of us have been in the situation where our dogs have run into the road so don't blame yourself. Both of mine have. We were just lucky. So sorry for your loss. x

I'm sure we've all had those heart stopping moments where things could have gone so wrong, it's just incredible bad luck that for some, it does . I know it won't help, but neither you or your OH is to blame, it was an accident that could have happened to any of us.

We lost our cocker 2 weeks ago - of course it is heartbreaking but please don't beat yourself up about it. It was a tragic accident.

I'm so sorry to hear this  Although his life was short, he obviously knew so much love and tenderness with you and your husband and had a happier life than some dogs that live to be 10 x his age. Take care of yourselves xxx
